Hi, everyone. From time to time I get e-mail from the producers of the upcoming NJ4 documentary, The Fire This Time (http://thefirethistimethefilm.com/). I'm starting this thread as a place to post the new information as it comes in, so if you're interested in this film, please check here for updates. Here's what came in yesterday:

******************************************************

The Fire This Time work-in-progress will be screening at Negril Village on Sunday, December 6th for their weekly "Savory Screening Sundays." We will be screening during brunch, so come out and support while eating great food!

Brunch will be from 12-4pm and we will screen at 1pm, 2pm and again at 3pm, so you can't miss it! Please sign up on Facebook if you are able to attend.

We are also excited to be screening alongside the short film Changing House by Za Martohardjono.

Changing House
Rusty and Chelsea are two transgender women who devoted fifteen years to making their home in Brooklyn a communal living space for transgender women.  Their home served a vital role as one of the only safe and accessible spaces in New York City for transgender women but soon became overcrowded and un-manageable as social workers referred more and more people to it.  Alongside long-time resident Cellia, Rusty and Chelsea open the doors to their house one last time, offering a glimpse of its unique history, reflecting on the joys and challenges of communal living and discussing the continuing struggle of the trans community with discrimination and homelessness.  Throughout their farewell, we sense the strong and tender activist spirit and hope-inspiring legacy of Stonewall veteran Silvia Rivera who helped maintain the house years ago.

Negril Village's Savory Screening Sundays
Starting at 1pm in the Rhum Lounge, Negril Village hosts the best in independent films. Be the first of a few select tastemakers to view films early before the masses in our relaxed environment. Enjoy our Brunch menu during the first screening. Enjoy the DJ and cocktails in between showings. This is the “must come to Sunday event”.

We are excited to announce that we have been invited to attend the Sundance Film Festival next month to meet one-on-one with potential broadcasters and funders. This is an amazing opportunity and could be critical to us finishing production on the film. As you are aware, we have been working on this film with a shoestring budget and barely have the resources to get there but don't want to miss this opportunity!! We can’t go without your help!

Please make a tax-deductible donation to help us raise the funds necessary to go to Sundance!

DONATE NOW!

You have been such a crucial element in getting the film to this point; please help us to keep the momentum going strong in 2010!
